Essays are considered a type of prose that is used mostly by students, especially in their academic requirements. An essay can come in numerous forms, each having the intention of relaying a precise message across to the readers.

Writing essays may seem easy for some, but relatively hard for others. The different forms of essays trigger the different moods that are set for each type. Some of these papers include:

• Reflection Essay - this is the type of paper wherein the writer is given a specific topic to ponder on and set realizations. Usually the feelings and emotions of the writer about a particular detail are seen in this essay.
• Journals - this type of essay is similar to that of a reflection paper. The only difference they have is that journals are written freely, and without following specific pointers.
• Admission Essays - these are the essays written for the purpose of being given to schools during application. The paper normally contains the student's background and also includes the dreams, aspirations, and interests of the student. This essay also helps the universities to carefully assess the applicant through the information that they give in the paper.
• Cause and Effect - As the name implies, this type of paper is written to show the possible effects of a certain thing, given the situation. This type of essay is very much common among students. When written well, these papers show an unbiased result.
• Comparative Essay - this essay is mostly focused on the similarities and differences of two ideas. Normally, the comparisons used are similar to each other, or may also be the complete opposite. This makes it possible for people to actually see the ideas presented, without being confused.
• Persuasive Essay - these are the essays that are normally used for speeches. A specific side is taken, accompanied by supporting evidences. The goal of the paper is to convince the readers of that the side taken is better, than that of the other. This essay is also somewhat similar to the Compare and Contrast Essay.
• Reaction Essay - This type of essay is similar to the Reflection Essay. The only difference is that the latter requires deeper emotions than the Reaction essay. The reaction essay is more focused on what was seen, rather than what was felt for a particular event or time. These are normally used for movie reviews and similar events where the writer can describe their emotional reaction.
• Informative Essay - the objective of this essay is to disseminate information, beyond those that are known to many. These are usually based on facts, and require little or no emotion from the writer.
• Narrative Essay - this is the most common essay used by students. The objective of the essay is to inform the readers of a particular event that has occurred. It is similar to telling a story; the only difference is that Narrative essays follow specific rules in writing.
• Descriptive Essay - this type of essay is similar to the Narrative Essay. The only difference is that it focuses more on what was seen, rather than the actual situation or event being talked about. The goal is to make the readers see what was perceived by the writer's imagination.
• Evaluation Essay - although seldom used, these essays are also considered an important and valuable essay. As the name implies, certain pointers are set, that are carefully taken into consideration.
• Analytical Essay - a particular event, person, place, or thing is given substantial attention. The important factors are taken into consideration, and are examined according to specific guidelines set by the instructional requirements of the essay.
• Expository Essay - the objective of this paper is to inform the readers about a particular instance, place, event, person, or thing.

As mentioned earlier, writing talent and ability is not something to be taken for granted? There are specific rules that should be addressed and followed. The writer must follow a process ensuring that all that is deemed to be important information is taken into consideration and included in the paper. Invention is the first step in writing an essay. As the writer, you are expected to come up with a specific topic that would catch the interest of the readers. After which, a critical reading is applied.
